Roanoke, Virginia – Margaret Sue Turner Wright, executive director of Curtis Turner Museum, and the daughter of the racing legend, Curtis Turner, has published “Curtis Turner Racing Stats” His Stockcar Racing Career: The years 1946 – 1968. The book also contains the previously nationally published article “My Life with Curtis Turner,” by Ann Ross Turner, now deceased, who was married to Curtis during his racing career. The in-depth article by Ann also includes exclusive family photos and a heart-warming introduction of her mother’s article by Margaret Sue. In 1966 Margaret Sue graduated from her Dad’s Safe High-speed Performance Driving School at the race track he built, the Charlotte Motor Speedway. She grew up as part of the racing family, which is the NASCAR family. From playing around the sand dunes at Daytona Beach as her Dad sped by, to playing in the pit infield areas at Talladega, Margaret Sue has been an integral part of her Dad’s career in racing. This book represents Margaret Sue’s commitment to keeping her Dad’s racing stats and history as accurate and complete as possible. Her Dad’s unparalleled success on the racetrack was nothing short of phenomenal and Margaret Sue wants the fans to never forget what Curtis Turner contributed to the greatest American home-grown sport – Motor Sport Racing. Curtis Turner was voted as one of the top 50 athletes of all time by Sports Illustrated. Curtis has been nominated for induction into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
